It is a residential workshop: all attendees will be hosted in the same resort (price included in the registration) to foster exchanges.

The workshop will start on May 29th in the afternoon (check-in at the hotel is scheduled on May 29, from 2:00 PM) and finish on May 31 at 2:00 PM (check-out in the morning) .

The conference will take place at the Vacanciel in Carry-le-Rouet on the "Cote Bleue" near Marseille.

How to get there?

To come to the Vacanciel in Carry-le-Rouet, you will first need to travel to Marseille Provence airport or the railway station of Marseille Saint Charles (more information on how to reach Marseille below). Once in Marseille, you could reach the Vacanciel by taking a taxi, or take a train to the railway station of Carry-le-Rouet from the railway station of Marseille Saint Charles. Depending on the number of participants, we may organise shuttles from the Vacanciel to Marseille Provence airport and Marseille Saint Charles railway station on the last day of the conference (more information soon!).

Train to travel from Marseille Saint Charles railway station to Carry-le-Rouet costs 5.90 each way and lasts about 35 minutes. The view on this trainline is particularly beautiful, sit on the left side of the train (in the direction of travel) to fully enjoy it ! Several connections are available each day. On Sundays, trains from Marseille to Carry-le-Rouet are leaving at 8.46am, 10.46am, 12.45pm, 2.27pm, 4.45pm and 7.14pm. On Mondays and Tuesdays, trains from Carry-le-Rouet to Marseille Saint Charles station leave at 7am, 7.59am, 8.35am, 9.35am, 11.35am, 1.35pm, 3.35pm, 5.35pm, 7.02pm and 7.35pm. Please note that timetable can be affected by incidents on the train line, we then recommend you to check the timetable a few days before your arrival here: https://www.sncf-connect.com/app/en-en/home/search . The Vacanciel is located at 3.3 kilometers from Carry-le-Rouet station. We will organise shuttles between the railway station and the vacanciel in the afternoon of the fisrt and the last days of the conference (i.e., Sunday 29th of May and Tuesday 31st of May).

The price for a taxi from Marseille airport is around 55€ in the daytime and about 70€ on Sundays and at night, from Marseille Saint Charles railway station, price is around 70 in the daytime and 90 on Sundays and at night, note that price can be higher in case of traffic.

 

Reach Marseille by AIR

There are many possible ways to reach Marseille area by plane. Marseille Provence Airport (Marseille Aéroport de Provence: www.marseille.aeroport.fr / Tel: + 33 (0)4 42 14 14 14 - Fax: + 33 (0)4 42 14 27 24) offers many possibilities. It is associated with 34 National and International airlines, offers many daily flights Paris/Marseille (flight duration 1h20), 17 connections to French cities, and several connections to 90 cities in 32 different countries.

Note that two low-cost airlines (Ryanair and Easyjet) connect Marseille to many other European and French cities (Easy Jet connects Marseille to London, UK, only). You will then land in the "mp2" airport, which is very near to the main Marseille Provence airport (www.mp2.aeroport.fr) and not far from the Shuttle stop.

You then have two options to reach the Vacanciel in Carry-le-Rouet. You could either first take a shuttle to Marseille Saint Charles railway station and then a train to Carry-le-Rouet, or take a taxi directly to the Vacanciel Carry-le-Rouet.

Shuttles (called "navettes", https://www.marseille-airport.com/access-car-parks/access/bus/marseille-st-charles-station) take you from the airport to Marseille Saint Charles railway station in 30 minutes and 10 € one way. From the airport, they leave every day at 4.10am, 4.50am, then every 20 minutes until 7.50am, every 15 minutes from 8.05am to 7.50pm and again every 20 minutes then until 12.30am. Last departure at 1.30am. From the station St Charles, they leave at 3.30am, 4.10am, then every 20 minutes until 6.30am, every 15 minutes from 7.05am to 7.20pm, and again every 20 minutes until 11.50pm. Last departure 12.50am. From Marseille Saint Charles station, you then have to take a train to Carry-le-Rouet railway station, see the section above for more details. Please check the train timetable before you travel, there are not so many connections !


If you prefer to take a taxi from the airport to Carry-le-Rouet, this should cost you about 55€ in the daytime and about 70€ on Sundays and at night. Night fare is from 19.00 to 7.00. Taxis Aéroport de Provence: www.taxis-aeroport.com

If you're coming from outside Europe, you may prefer to land in Paris, Nice or Lyon. If you do not find an interesting connecting flight to Marseille, note that there are direct train connections from Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle Airport (Paris) to Marseille and the trip takes only 4 hours on average (on the fast TGV train). Lyon is only 1h40mn from Marseille by train (TGV). Nice is 2h30mn away by bus (when there is no traffic; see the bus timetable : https://services-zou.maregionsud.fr/fr/horaires/Zou-LER/Bus/ligne/LER-20/direction/OUTWARD/10976) and 2-3 hours away by train; the ride along the coast is actually very nice, but note that you would first need to go from Nice airport to Nice Ville to have a train connection to Marseille Saint Charles and then from Marseille Saint Charles to Carry-le-Rouet station, which will significantly lengthens your trip. Please check the sections above and "by train" for more information.

 

Reach Marseille by TRAIN

There are more than 200 daily trains leaving from and arriving in Marseille Saint Charles railway station , including many TGV (fast train) Méditerranée Paris/Marseille per day (3 hours). The main railway stations of Europe are linked to Marseille Saint Charles: Lyon 1h50, Lille 5h20, Brussels 5h20, Toulouse 3h20, Bordeaux 5h30, Geneva 4h45, London : 6h57...
